My Journey So Far

TRANSFORMED BY GOD FROM A FEARFUL INTROVERT INTO A COURAGEOUS CHAMPION OF LIFE

When we started this blog in the summer of 2014, it was used to help me grow a gift in my own heart. Every day I felt God was doing something bigger in me and I wanted to share that with the world. As time went on this blog became a place to help others begin their own journey. I watched as my stories, thoughts, and encouragement unlocked the calling in others. God moved majorly in my life and opened doors for coaching, teaching, and encouraging so many people who are still using my resources today.

Since the beginning of 2022, we have been on a new adventure. God opened the door for us to do a monthly class filled with practical tools to help people experience the mercies of God. This blog is a tremendous blessing and I am so blessed to be doing this. I am excited to keep encouraging, coaching, and teaching others and I am so excited to continue cultivating a strong community every new day.

For fifty-four years, I have fought against abortion, starting in the late sixties to prevent abortion on demand—a passion that was inspired by observing my parents' selfless service, an assignment given to me by the Holy Spirit to steward.


Through these years, I've worked with crisis pregnancy centers, done post-abortion counseling, and joined Operation Rescue. I've been pushed, spit on, handcuffed, beaten, injured by nunchucks, shackled, arrested twenty-four times, and received a mafia death threat.


God used the experiences of my many arrests, physical abuse, and time in jail to change me from a shy, easily frightened introvert into a useable vessel for His call.

As I yielded to Him, the Lord broke my heart for pregnant women in desperate situations. He taught me how to approach these abortion-minded women with love and compassion, encouraging them to choose life over abortion. I began to share these lessons with others interested in sidewalk counseling. My curriculum earned national recognition and resulted in others giving me the high honor of “The Billy Graham of Sidewalk Counseling.”


I have a doctorate in clinical Christian counseling (PhD). In addition to my two children, I have a stepdaughter and a total of ten grandchildren. I live in the Midwest with my husband, Steve.
